    Apprenticeships are a popular choice for people aged 16 or above, looking for on the job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace.
     
    This apprenticeship is ideal for new starters within Accountancy, or for existing employees with limited experience who are looking to build their skillset.

    This apprenticeship is suitable for various entry-level accounting roles, including Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Assistant Bookkeeper, and more.
     
     

    Course Details

    What will the course involve?

    Mandatory units for this apprenticeship include:
    • Bookkeeping controls and transactions: Learn how to record and process financial transactions 
    • Costing: Learn how to calculate costs 
    • Accounting systems and processes: Learn how to use accounting software and systems 
    • Basic accounting: Learn the fundamentals of accounting 
    • Ethical standards: Learn about the ethical standards of the accounting profession 
    • Introduction to bookkeeping: Learn the basics of bookkeeping 
    • The business environment: Learn about the business environment and how to work in it 
    The apprenticeship also includes off-the-job training, such as mentoring, online learning, and college attendance. 
    To complete the apprenticeship, you must pass an end point assessment.

    Minimum Grade C/Grade 4 at GCSE in English and Maths are an advantage otherwise a minimum Level 1 qualification is required. You will need to demonstrate an interest in the accounting sector. All applicants for apprenticeship training will be required to attend an interview and undertake initial assessments.

    You will be continually assessed throughout your training by a nominated Assessor to support/visit and online programmes. Most of the assessment will take place in the college to complete external exams. Your progress will be reviewed regularly and achievable targets set, to ensure you complete your apprenticeship on time.
     
    If you have achieved Grade C/Grade 4 or above in Maths and English you will not be required to undertake Functional Skills.
     
    If you have achieved less than these grades, you will be required to achieve a minimum Level 2 Functional Skills prior to or during the apprenticeship. These will be assessed through external examinations and workshops.
     
    The End Point Assessment (EPA) for this apprenticeship contains an integrated assessment from the mandated qualification that must be sat post gateway, and after the interview component.
